Most agencies and owners corporations run a preferred supplier list, and getting onto it usually means producing the same set of documents every time. This page has all of it in one place so you can assess Sedcon Plumbing without a back-and-forth.
Licensing and insurance
- VBA Licence 120392 — registered with the Victorian Building Authority and publicly verifiable on the VBA practitioner register.
- Gas fitting endorsement — covered under the same licence, so gas appliance work and compliance certificates are handled in-house.
- Public liability insurance — policy OA62972999.
- Warranty insurance — six-year warranty insurance as required under the Victorian Ministerial Order for domestic building work.
- Certificate of currency — available on request for your contractor records. Email admin@sedconplumbing.com.au and we will send it the same day.
What we commit to
- Same-day attendance for non-urgent maintenance wherever possible.
- After hours and weekends for urgent repairs — burst pipes, sewage overflow, no hot water, gas escapes.
- Direct tenant coordination. We arrange access with the tenant ourselves so you are not relaying times between two parties.
- Job completion notification. You hear from us when it is done, rather than chasing us for an update.
- Written cause reporting. Where a repair involves a liability question — a blockage, a leak, damage across lots — we document the cause in writing, with camera footage where relevant.
- Quote before we start. No surprises on the invoice, and variations documented and approved before proceeding.
Scope of work
- General maintenance — taps, toilets, leaks, water pressure, hot water
- Blocked drains, high-pressure jetting and CCTV inspection
- Burst pipes, leak detection and repipes
- Gas fitting, appliance connection and compliance certificates
- Gas safety checks for rental properties
- Strata and common property plumbing
- Backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve servicing
- Bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovation plumbing
- New build and extension rough-in and fit-off
- Roof plumbing, gutters and stormwater
Compliance work we can schedule for you
Two recurring obligations are easy to let slip across a portfolio, and both are ones we can put on a schedule so the reminder comes from us:
- Gas safety checks. Victorian rental providers must have gas installations and appliances checked by a licensed gasfitter at least every two years, with a record kept of the most recent check. We can batch these by suburb across a portfolio and provide a written record per property.
- Backflow prevention testing. Testable devices generally require annual testing by a plumber with a backflow endorsement, reported to the water authority.
Coverage
Melbourne metro — inner, middle and selected outer suburbs, from Reservoir to Mordialloc and Williamstown to Springvale. If your portfolio sits outside that, call and we will tell you honestly whether we can service it properly rather than take the work and be late.
Getting set up
- Email or call us — admin@sedconplumbing.com.au or 0413 647 557.
- We send your documents — licence details, certificate of currency and anything else your onboarding requires.
- You send us work orders — by email, or through your maintenance system if you use one. Tell us the format that suits you.
- We invoice per job against your reference, so it reconciles against the property without chasing.
Who we work with
We work with three groups, and each has a page setting out how: property managers, strata and owners corporation managers, and builders and renovators.
Frequently asked questions
Can you provide a certificate of currency?
Yes. Email admin@sedconplumbing.com.au and we will send it the same day, along with licence details for your contractor records.
How do I verify your licence?
VBA Licence 120392 is publicly searchable on the Victorian Building Authority practitioner register. We would encourage you to check ours, and anyone else’s.
Do you have a minimum job size?
No. A dripping tap in one rental and a full strata stack renewal are both work we take. The point of a preferred supplier arrangement is that you are not sourcing a different trade depending on the size of the job.
Can you take work orders through our maintenance system?
Tell us what you use and we will work to it. Most of our work comes in by email, but we would rather fit your process than ask you to change it for one trade.
What are your after-hours arrangements?
We are available after hours and on weekends for urgent repairs. Call or text 0413 647 557 — the same number, not a separate emergency line.
